Born: about 1562 “Estimated from marriage in 1583 and birth of son in 1592.” POTENTIAL FATHER — EVIDENCE‑BASED ASSUMPTION No baptism for Henrie Moncke appears in any Sussex parish between 1535–1610. He first appears in the records at his marriage in Rotherfield, 18 Nov 1583, and later as father of a son baptised Worth, 01 Oct 1592. A documented Monk family exists in Ticehurst, headed by Antonye Monke, who married Margeret Gralynge on 06 Jan 1565/66. Their children (Ane, 1568/69; Antonye, 1575/76) are too young to be Henrie, indicating Henrie was born before 1565. Given the absence of any other Monk male of appropriate age in the Sussex Weald, and the close parish cluster (Ticehurst → Rotherfield → Worth), it is reasonable to infer that Antonye Monke may have had an earlier, undocumented marriage from which Henrie was born c. 1560–1564. Due to gaps in surviving parish registers, this relationship is recorded as a plausible genealogical assumption, not proven.
